Having dedicated his entire adult life to serving our country (41 years), Gerard "Military Gerry" Lamola continues to serve his local community in retirement. He believes that children represent the future of society and that it is our responsibility to guide them towards becoming productive members of society. Whether through teaching, mentoring, or coaching, their success depends on our involvement. Committed to doing his part, Gerry is running for the school board in Winslow Township.
Early Life and Education: Born and raised in Newark, NJ, to hardworking blue-collar parents who, through their unwavering dedication, provided for Gerry and his three sisters. The family later relocated to Hillside, NJ, where graduation from Hillside High School marked a significant milestone for him. With no funds available for college, and a love for aviation; Gerry decided to enlist in the U.S. Air Force. Leveraging the G.I. Bill, Gerry earned three associate degrees from the Community College of the Air Force, followed by a Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Aviation and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with Summa Cum Laude honors from Touro University.
Community Involvement: For nine years, Gerry and his wife have served as foster parents, and in 2018, they adopted their daughter Lilianna when she was 21 months old. As a servant leader, Gerry is the President of the Historical Society of Winslow Township and owns and manages the Pine Barrens Phantoms, a semi-professional baseball team in the TriCounty League of South Jersey. He also volunteers at the South Jersey Christian Academy and is an active member of the Sicklerville Church community.
Professional Life and Local Ties: Gerry has dedicated 41 years to military service with the U.S. Air Force and the NJ Air National Guard, traveling around the world and serving in various capacities. He is a veteran of the Cold War, Gulf War, Operation Enduring Freedom, and the Global War on Terrorism, and has also participated in relief efforts for hurricanes Katrina and Maria. Gerry is married to Anastazia Ghassemi-Lamola, an immigrant from Iran, and together they have four children: Angela (40), Vincent (39), Michael (37), and Lilianna (8), as well as four grandchildren. He has been a resident of Winslow Township for the past 15 years.
Gerry takes pride in his commitment to community service and his love for this great country. Having served honorably, he is eager to give back to the people of Winslow Township.
